How to Fill PDF Forms

Updated 2026-09-13 · DocsAll Guides

Quick answer: Fill interactive PDF form fields in your browser — text inputs, checkboxes, and dropdowns — and download the completed file. Open PDF 表单填写 — everything runs locally in your browser, and files never leave your device.

Steps

  1. Upload the PDF to the Form Filling tool.
  2. The tool detects AcroForm fields and highlights every editable area.
  3. Fill in text, tick checkboxes, and pick dropdown values.
  4. Review required fields, then download the filled PDF.

Important notes

  • Only PDFs with real form fields (AcroForm) support this — scanned paper forms have no field layer and need OCR first.
  • Legacy XFA forms from LiveCycle have limited support; ask the sender for a standard AcroForm version if fields do not appear.
  • Entries are written into the PDF itself — double-check names and ID numbers before downloading.

Common questions

The fields look blank after opening — why? Try a different reader (browser or Adobe Reader); if it is truly empty, the field layer was malformed and you should refill.

Can I edit after saving? Yes — re-upload the saved file and the values are still editable.

Pro tips

Before typing anything into a long form, verify the fields actually save: fill one field, download, reopen, and check the value persisted. Some PDFs have fields that render but do not retain data (broken field flags from the generator) — better to learn that after one field than after forty. For forms you must sign and return, watch for required-field indicators and flatten behavior: some workflows want the data flattened (no longer editable) and others want fields live; the save option you pick determines which. Keep an unsigned blank copy always.

Can I fill a form on my phone? Yes — the tool works in mobile browsers, though long text entry is faster with a keyboard; fill on desktop for lengthy forms.
