HTML to TXT Converter

Updated 2026-09-13 · DocsAll Guides

Quick answer: Strip every tag from HTML and keep only the readable text. Open HTML 转 TXT — everything runs locally in your browser, and files never leave your device.

Steps

  1. Paste the HTML or upload the file.
  2. Download the .txt.

Important notes

  • script and style contents are removed automatically, but hidden text can slip through — skim the output for anything important.
  • Great for summaries, search corpora, and text-to-speech input.

Common questions

Are line breaks preserved? Block tags (p/div/h1) produce line breaks; inline tags do not.

Mojibake output? The HTML charset declaration must match the actual encoding (usually UTF-8).

When to use this

For a cleaner corpus, prefer pasting the article body rather than the full page source — menus and cookie banners otherwise survive as text.

Pro tips

The main skill in HTML-to-text is choosing what to exclude. Feed the converter the article region, not the whole page: copy from the page (reader mode or selecting the article block and copying HTML) and you skip nav menus, cookie banners, and related-article spam that otherwise litter the text. For batch jobs, a URL list plus view-source works but expect to tune exclusions per site family. After conversion, one pass of the Whitespace Cleaner removes the double blank lines and stray symbols that HTML structure leaves behind.

Why is there navigation text in my output? You converted the full page — trim the HTML to the article container first, or delete nav lines in the text afterwards.
