Q: Are files uploaded to the server?
No. All processing happens in your browser. Files never leave your device, fully protecting your privacy.
Q: Will compression reduce file quality?
Default compression is lossless, only removing internal redundant objects without affecting display. If "Also compress images" is checked, each page is converted to a JPEG image for a much smaller size, but text will no longer be selectable/searchable. Best for display-only or archival use.
Q: What if the size does not shrink after compression?
Some already-optimized PDFs have limited lossless compression headroom. Try checking "Also compress images" for a much smaller size (at the cost of the text-selectable layer).
Q: Is there a file size limit?
Up to 100MB per file.
