Convert Obsidian Notes to Word

Updated 2026-09-13 · DocsAll Guides

Quick answer: Deliver Obsidian notes as .docx: export the Markdown, neutralize wiki syntax, then convert with full table and image support. Open DOCX 转 Obsidian — everything runs locally in your browser, and files never leave your device.

Steps

  1. Locate the .md file in your vault (right-click note → Reveal in system explorer).
  2. Convert Obsidian-only syntax: [[note name]] → normal links or plain text; callouts → standard blockquotes.
  3. Run MD to Word and check tables, images, and code blocks in the preview.
  4. Download the .docx.

Important notes

  • Embedded images ![[pic.png]] must resolve — keep attachments in the vault folder or fix relative paths before converting.
  • Frontmatter (--- properties) converts as text or a table; delete it if the recipient does not need it.
  • LaTeX formulas ($...$) survive with varying fidelity — proof-read each one for papers.

Common questions

Do #tags carry over? They become plain text; find-and-replace them out if unwanted.

What happens to backlinks? They become text — the link graph cannot exist inside Word.
